  15.      _r_u_n_p_r_i_v checks to see if you have been granted _p_r_i_v_i_l_e_g_e, and if so it
  16.      runs the command _p_r_i_v_i_l_e_g_e found in the directory /_u_s_r/_s_y_s_a_d_m/_p_r_i_v_b_i_n
  17.      with the remaining arguments.

  19.      _r_u_n_p_r_i_v succeeds if any one of following conditions are met:

  21.      1.   You are running as root.
  22.  
  23.      2.   There is no root password on the system.
  24.  
  25.      3.   The file /_v_a_r/_s_y_s_a_d_m/_d_e_f_a_u_l_t_P_r_i_v_i_l_e_g_e_s/pppprrrriiiivvvviiiilllleeeeggggeeee exists and has the
  26.           string "on" as its first line (see _d_e_f_a_u_l_t_P_r_i_v_i_l_e_g_e_s(4)).

  28.      4.   There is an entry in the _p_r_i_v_i_l_e_g_e_d_U_s_e_r_s(4) database granting you
  29.           all privileges.

  31.      5.   There is an entry in the _p_r_i_v_i_l_e_g_e(4) database granting you the
  32.           requested privilege, and you are not an NIS user.
  33.  
  34.      6.   The ----aaaauuuutttthhhh _a_u_t_h-_s_c_h_e_m_e arguments are provided, and you pass the
  35.           authentication test.  If _a_u_t_h-_s_c_h_e_m_e is uuuunnnniiiixxxx, then you must type the
  36.           root password when prompted in order to pass.

  38.      Checks 3, 4, and 5 will automatically fail if the pppprrrriiiivvvviiiilllleeeeggggeeeessss
  39.      configuration file in /_e_t_c/_c_o_n_f_i_g is not oooonnnn (see _c_h_k_c_o_n_f_i_g(1M)).
